Hey guys,

Have you guys ever seen a PSU without any molex connectors at all?
cos some1 told me that their Dell E520 has no molex connector...

cheers,

Yup.

The newer Dell machines we have at work have SATA hard drives & CD drives and there are only SATA power connectors on the PSU.

ohhh, so would you say that it is impossible to install the sapphire x1950pro into these dell machine??

thanks

Dell PCs are generally non-standard, especially when it comes to the PSU. You might find that a standard PSU doesn't fit and might not even fit the power connector on the mobo.

Yup. I would just buy a new base unit and salvage what you can from the Dell.

i believe that they are now standard psu, but what is new to me is that there is molex connector coming with it... which is a bit strange, considered that there was one before...

If you get a new dell without any extra molex connectors you could argue with them about the fact that they included expandable PCI ports that you cant use because they didnt supply the right power supply, if you catch my drift.
