Im building a PC for my dad to use, from old bits lying around, ive got it all up and running, he just needs a PSU, doesn't want to spend to much.

The rig is a X2 4400+, 2GB ram and a 8800GTX, with 1 HD, thats it, he won't be gaming at all, just office work, the 8800 i bought back from the dead the other day with the oven trick.

Im thinking of the Corsair CX500,, ive got a old 620W Corsair in my rig and it's great. Unless thats a bit overkill and ill get something else?

Cheers.

the cx500 or the one stulid reccomended should do, but i would keep an eye on that 8800. Ive seen quite a few successfully baked cards die again within a few months

Yeah iam a bit worried about it dying, ah well if it does he can just buy a dirt cheap video card.

Think ill go for the CX430 then, cheers.

One little Q, the 8800GTX how many 6pin connectors does it need? the CX430 has one.

if the card needs 2, do you have an molex adapter?

Or the Bequiet.
