Difficult choice. I'm reading up on the difference. Basically, the 6950 will be about the same at higher resolution but worse at lower...

I can't choose... Which will fall in price quicker? Always the difficult choice

The GTX570 are overpriced because I bought a new one with custom cooler for £210 brand new.

This shows relative performance at different resolutions, - http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ASUS/Mars_II/27.html

Look at the resolution of the monitor you want to use and look at the closest match

well, looking at how the price of the GTX 480 recently skyrocketed from £230 to over £300 (because they stoped making them) i'd say the 570 would hold its value quite well.

not having been in the members market very much i will see what everyone else thinks though

so, your looking at a ~15% increase over all resolutions. seems pretty good to me, especially with the added bonus of the cuda cores for phys, some CAD programs and some video editing programs.

oh, and i think im right in saying battlefield has traditionally favoured Nvidia cards

I only picked ATI because I thought I could flash it....

However... more GPU Ram should equal higher FPS (in my out dated mind...)

Nice... I've unintentionally started a war!

nah, its just mine and stulids daily argument :)

i'm in the £60 for ~10% better graphics at 1080p and an amazing custom cooler on your graphics card, whereas stulid wants to put the money in his pocket

it would do if the games used it. someone with a 3GB GTX 580 (or two in SLI, i cant remember) was playing games on max settings and found that he should have saved the money and gone for the 1.5GB version because none of the games used the extra VRAM (or if they did, it was a tiny amount of it)
i cant remember if this was at 1900x1080 (1080p) or 2560x1600 though
