PSU's

Can anyone recomend some good makes of PSU for used with a Phenom2 system, with 5 HDD's and an ATI4870?

Ive been out of the loop about PSUs, so any recomendations of good quality makes is welcome.

Anything by Corsair, PCP&C or Be Quiet! and you won't go wrong 750W or there about should easily do you well.

Anything from SeaSonic is great. What it really depends on is your budget.

What everyone else says. Corsair are made by SeaSonic as well.

Also remember before I bought my 620 Watt Corsair that the reviews said it provided as much power as cheaper 750 Watt units.

I would have thought 600W or more from one of the above brands would be fine even if you planned to Xfire later although that might be pushing it slightly.

Also decide if you want to go modular or not. I did but have since come to the conlusion that if you have a huge case like me then it probably isn't worth it for the extra money and risk of failure as there is plenty of space to tuck unused cables away.

Either the 650w Corsair or the 620w Modular Corsair

A good 500W will easily do the job. Something like the Corsair HX520 or VX550 etc

I have the VX550, its awesome Id advise getting the modular version though... Cables are a pain in the but!

I'm going to run my system with a 4890 in the near future... 550/600 watts will be ample
