*** PSVR2 owners thread ***

Looks very well designed. It's about time that hall effect sensors were used as standard though, as even expensive controllers like the Index or Quest pro don't use them. Also all these VR controllers that use rechargable batteries should make it easy to replace them.

Right then..played for around 4 hours last night on GT7 & Horizons.
First thing i noticed was the FOV is noticeably larger than the Q2 which i am very happy about..there is slight screen door but not really a big deal and mura is present too but again you don't notice it most of the time.
GT7 plays flawlessly i did not get one glitch or dropped frame it just works which is a far cry from my experience with Asetta Corsa..comfort wise there is no pressure at all on your face and zero light leak with the facial interface, the sweetspot is similar to Q2 but that is to be expected with fresnel lenses godrays not a problem either and black levels and colours are street ahead of Q2...the controllers are terrific with a great feel to them and the haptics and adaptive triggers are amazing.
That being said i think the psvr2 is £100 overpriced..the build quality is ok but not as good as Q2 and i don't like the material the cushion of the headband are made of but they are removable so hopefully some third party will come up with an upgrade.
Final thoughts...the psvr2 is not perfect by any means but it is a significant step up from the Quest 2 and the games do look great but i do think it should cost a few quid less as it's a big financial hit if like me you have to get the PS5 as well.

Have you guys had tracking issues playing at night? My controllers were frequently losing tracking every few minutes yesterday , I have two light bulbs in the room both at 800lumen. I turned the brightness of the bulbs down to 50% and then the tracking issues went away

Lights can interfere with IR based controller tracking - for instance Quest headsets can get confused by Christmas lights.

Tip for mura lower the brightness down to 60-70%, it's at 100% by default

This worked wow

I turned the brightness down to 50% and it removes most of the Mura and motion blur. Turning the brightness down to 0% almost 100% gets rid of Mura and motion blur and every looks super sharp though dark. 50% brightness seems like a good half way point, still has some mura but way less than by default
