Pub Quiz strangeness

We had "what continent has not held the olympic games?"

We and many others wrote Antartica but the guy sweared blind it was not a continent. Despite around 70% of teams protesting.

It is.

Highest break can be more than 147 if other player makes a foul but the other player can't make a foul if it's from break-off.

no, your total score can be more than 147 but not a break.
a preceding foul score is not added to the break that comes after it

It is possible to make 155 by potting a red and black from a free-ball which would then be added to the break.

edit: My friend's dad was in the Guiness Book of Records for getting a 151 in a tournament - google Wally West :)

Meant to say foul resulting in free ball.

No it's not It's move Pawn & Move Queen Checkmate

I've always thought of another set of moves, to the ones in the videos posted, as foolsmate. There is a way of checkmate in 3 moves which doesn't rely on your opponent making two moves which are as foolish as in the video (it does rely on them not moving certain pieces though, so it's still only something that catches out new players)

Think that's "Scholar's Mate"

It's the one everyone thinks of when you say "fool's mate" because it doesn't rely on your opponent being quite as idiotic as the two move one.
i.e. 1. e4 e5 is a lot more common than the "real" fool's mate.
