PUBG PC

Hi

My friends son wants a PC that will play PUBG. He was looking at some dell guff (ryzen 3 rx460) for £599 for the high street but i told him i could do better.

I've come up with a micro atx build based on A ryzen 5 1400 with a GTX1050TI which includes OS for £605. Is this the way to go or should i be looking at Intel?

Any builds you can come up with would be appreciated.

The 1050ti is faster than the rx 460.

Okay so i take the budget is 600 quid.

Bang for buck i'd stick with ryzen.

Ryzen and suitable mobo is over 50 quid cheaper than a standard intel combo. Possibly get a 1060 3gb for 180 squids.

PUBG runs like absolute poo.

a 1050ti will struggle unless everything is on ultra low and he plays at 1080p and 60hz.

a 1060 3gb will play it fine at 1080p for 60 hz, i'd pick the 6gb version for 120hz or higher.

1070 for 165hz or 2k res @ 60hz.

1080 or 1080 ti required for 2k res and 120hz minimum.

the gum runs like crap though on any system. what is he currently playing it on? as i would just upgrade that.

you ideally need minimum 12GB RAM (DDR3 or DDR4), minimum of 4 threads and a 1060 6GB or 1070

he's a consol gamer at the mo so has nothing

I would go with the Ryzen 1600 as it's one thing less to upgrade.

^Not that I condone this but you can also remove the watermark from non activated Win 10 to make it less annoying. Lots of youtube tutorials.

I ran PUBG for a bit (got sick of it) on my 1080 @ 1440P and perf was good but certainly it's not a well optimized game. games that are more graphically intense like BF1 and Witcher 3 run better for me on ultra than PUBG did.

Coming in £60 tad hot but Ryzen 1600 6 core 12 threads which is bang on point for gaming and won't be touched for a long time

Awesome ! get some pics up of the system

nice to see any recommend thread closed off with Pics of the final system

room for CPU to be overclocked as well as the card - but should be in need for a rush to do it- good learning kurb for him and will solidify him in the PC Master race

which ram did you go for in the end ? Team Group by any chance ? and you guys able to get it running at its speed just fine?

It was the Team group ram yes! running at 2666.

No overclocking yet but i have told him i will if need be.

Next time i go over to his i'll take a picture or two!

was it 2666 kit you bought ?? really really worth getting it up to 2933hz/3000 thats ryzens sweet spot if you got 3000hz kit. if not worth the time to try and it it up to that figure- does mean a bit of playing around with

2560x1440 isn't 2K.

The issue is that 2K is an actual res so when people incorrectly use it to refer to 1920x1080 or 2560x1440 it causes issues.

I know, and I think it's ridiculous that so many people say "4K". But 2K is even worse. 2K is 2048x1080, not 2560x1440.
