Public school kids

I'm in a public/private school and I know almost no one like that, at least not in my year. I've not heard anyone get into bragging competitions about who has something better apart from maybe once in my 2 years of being there.
A number of the people taking gap year's are planning to take a trip through India, China etc.
Another guy I know is going to a village in India to teach english.
Everyone there was really nice and when I first joined, went out of their way to help me out. Invited me along when they were going for lunch, offered to go home with me on the tube after school etc.

If we have any talk's or seminars at the school, sometimes other schools come as well, including state school's and although i've seen this only once or twice, th ose few times everyone was mixing and lot of the guys seemed to know a lot ofthe girls already :p

Most of the people i've met are smart too. Even the guys who act like idiots in class end up doing well in exams. You do get the occasional complete moron but then those are there everywhere.

Since this has been my only school in this country, it might be that this is an exception or something, because most of the guys have mentioned while I was talking to them or generally while talking in class tht this school is a lot less snobbish compared to some of the other private schools and some of them are terrible. I discounted that as idle chatter, but maybe it's not the case.

My senior school could only play Public Schools at rugby due to us being quite good, as one of the 4 teams in the NE to get into the Daily Mail cup with Durham Boys School, Yarm, and another college(cant remember their name) but we drew yarm the first game, and after a long very hard and good game on both halfs we won, by 3 points.

After this game ended Yarm, refused to play our school at any sport. As it was an embarrasment to get beat by us.

This wasnt the fist "good" school to do this, after we beat Kings (north tyneside) by 60 odd points they stopped playing us aswell.

Oh well.

KaHn

/edit:- also aggorancy with money will normaly come from these people with "old money", more families with their parents being the only rich people can be well looked after but apart from that.

My friend has a rich dad, and his nick name for him is "iron fist".

Is it private or public though, I know one person who goes to a private school in sheffield and he says they are all normal.

Public schools are different to private ones...

It's a private school.
Just what used to be known earlier as the public schools.

To the OP...

Relax. Forget about these people. Don't get worked up over them. Get on with your own life and be happy in the knowledge that you supposedly don't stoop to their level. I don't understand how people get worked up over the way other people choose to run their lives. Chill out ffs :p

I'm not some far out hippy either. Some people do get on my **** but I don't get worked up over it. I either just tolerate them and take them for who they are or in extreme cases I ignore or avoid them. Problem sorted

I'm sure it would depend on how many pheasants they could pluck.

How much wood their woodchuck could chuck is probably a deciding factor too, that is of course if their woodchuck could chuck wood.

I know people like this too, and I have to admit I was moderately like that when I was younger (<12) but now I feel I am enlightened. It's experiences in life what counts, not what you have. Let them toil their whole lives in pursuit of the next best consumer item ("Go on, buy it, I promise you'll be happy this time!") and have a heart attack at 45! Just enjoy life :)

Having a good rant is also a great thing to do

Also she had a better chance of getting into the school because of her business venture when she was younger.

Would you like to know what she does?

Well i'll tell ya what she does.

She sells sea shells down by the sea shore.

Also her cousin peter picked a peck of pickled peppers.

Hows that for overkill. :p

Why is it that I keep thinking public = state, I went through that thinking, hang on, someone going to a state school owns a 7.2k car?

Anyway, as in all classes of society you'll get some right ****'s.

When I was a kid, I believed that anyone that was well spoken was intelligent as this was generally the case.. until I met those who went to Public Schools.. I wrongly assumed they'd understand me when I talk to them above chav-level.

These lot have to be pretty much the worst bunch of people I have ever met. I have been going to public schools for my whole life, there are 2 words that describe these characters
naive
ignorant

and maybe liars too..

I went to a public school.
It doesnt sound like the one i went to.
