It turned out to be nothing serious in the end. A small case of bore wash where the car had been moved a short distance about an hour after it had been parked. Dry pistons because there was still fuel in the cylinders which had washed the oil away. However it does need a new battery. Thanks to the lovely guy from the AA we are back up to full French force.
