PUK unlock but moved operator

Hey, weird one here or possibly very simple.

Used to be with O2 and had said simcard for a number of years. Moved to Orange last September and am now trying to get some old numbers off the old sim card.

But I have foolishy locked it as I must have changed the PIN to something random when I last used it all those months ago. Naturally O2 don't have my PUK code on their system anymore as I ported my number to Orange.

Any way to get onto the SIM card other than find the documents from all those years ago with the PUK code on?

Phone up orange, its something they give you over the phone. Its frighteninly easy to get a PUK code!

Youwont be able to do it easily.
It requires a sim card reader and a paid for program.

Thanks guys, but it seems I had some sense when I ported over.

Got my phone on and I had copied everything from the sim to my old samsung E900 and all numbers are listed on the phone memory.

No it doesn't. I can do it over the phone on O2 using basic details such as phone number and something else I cannot remember.

read the OP, in his case without a PUK and not able to gain the PUK.

Yup, a few people didn't get it

My number was ported from O2 to Orange so now O2 are like 'WTF' we don't have your number thus no PUK.

Must be a way to do it by handing over details and the sim card number on the back though.
