my fabia follows the camber too easily and veers to the left meaning constant correction .ive been told its a common vag niggle but im wondering if theres an underlying problem.
tyre pressures seem ok and wear is even maybe i should swap the tyres around ?
anybody else have this problem or a soloution?

Perhaps your tracking is out? That would cause your car to veer either to the left or right depending on which side it was out on. :)

Just a suggestion,

BeatMaster :D

No it isn't normal, some part of your suspension geometry is out. Cars may veer slightly to the left due on steep cambers but it's not something you should notice on flat roads.

My Mini Cooper does this. I had the tracking done recently, which found nothing. The chap suggested having the geometry checked - how much is this likely to cost?

Cheers,
Matt

Actually it can be completely normal to get a small degree of pull to the left if you have wide low profile tyres on the car even on a slight camber road...

Get the geometry checked, but it may well be a niggle you have to live with

:(

Find a very quiet bit of road and drive in the middle of the road (over the white lines) and then on the wrong side of the road.

See where it pulls to rule out road camber.

its ok on a flat surface ie an empty car park or the middle of the road but it seems to overreact to the camber

Then I am guessing it is down to the wheels/tyres...

if it is fine on the flat, then the geometry is fine...

Thought all cars slightly steer to the left. Reminds me i need my tracking done too!

we have two pool cars at work an r reg escort and a 54 corsa and both stay rock solid in the middle of the lane unless the camber is exessive, this is when i noticed my fabia had this niggle after driving these
