Went the doctors parked up in the car park.

Came out got in my car reversed with belt off.

Came to the car park entrance pulled onto road and put belt on copper stopped

me saying I was driving without a seatbelt.

Why are traffic cops so bored all the time?

Get in car, put seatbelt on, start engine, how hard can it be?

I mean not only did you drive without it on, you tryed to put it on whilst either moving or stoped at a junction.

I hate people who do this, wtf is the point, no advantage in doing this only drawbacks.

Thats what I normally do.Get in car, put seatbelt on, start engine,

This time i didnt has i was reversing,I put the belt on in car park.

Just at the exit of it.

The police was watching and had nothing better to do.I feel sorry for these people some times.

You'll hate me then, I have to do this everyday since the seatbelt locks when parked on my driveway as it's so steep. I have to reverse out and then put my belt on, but my car is then sitting a few yards back from a junction.

If you could suggest an alternative I'm listening :D

I'm assuming you didn't get a ticket? Copper was clearly being a jobs worth and should learn the law as you are allowed to reverse without your seatbely on and can do pretty much whatevere the hell you like in the doctors car park.

I wish policemen would just use there common sense occasionally, I pulled over to answer my mobile phone the other day and a passing copper tapped on my window to point out that I was breaking the law as the Engine was running! Surely he could have spent his time more productively by dealing with the drunken pot smoking chavs on the swings in the near by park.

Yeah,

He didn't give me a ticket but...

Its so annoying. They wonder why they have a bad reputation.

Clearly you have two options, 1. Never get out of the car, living is over-rated anyways, 2. level your drive.

Officially hated :p

I know the law about reversing etc, depends on the carpark however and if you know for sure if its private or public land since you drove forward without your belt on.

For all the copper knew you intended to drive out of the carpark without the belt on, don't see the issue tbh, he spoke to you about it and thats all..

become a taxi driver then :)

dont have to wear one whilst your working :) and working is open to interpritation ;) as long as your radios on etc :)

His assumption was wrong.

He wasting his time and mine.

I had to get the chemist by 6pm before it shut and he was delaying me by being a smartarse.

Thats the thing about assumptions, funny enough....

What if a traffic cop said, oh look and untaxed car, but its going to be ok, odds are he will tax it next week....

Clearly this would be the wrong way of going about things.

He was "delaying" you by doing his job.

Did you, or did you not drive forward with your belt off?

Put your seatbelt on, then drive.

In a car park yes.

If I broke the law then he should have fined me.

He didn't because he had no grounds to fine me.

As he was being a tool.

Not really, its at the officers discretion at what action to take, like when some people are caught doing 90mph on the motorway, sometimes they get 3 points, other times they get a talking to and thats it.

Its like when i've being pulled over in the past, he could have give me a £30 fine, but he just spoke to me instead.
