Just drove on to my girlfriends estate to drop her off when we saw 4 coppers all just standing there not doing a lot (sounds pretty normal you say), anyway as i drove out of her street to go home they signaled me to pull over.

Was pretty routine stuff and gotta say the coppers were sound, they asked if the car was registered in my name etc, i even offered to show them my license before they asked. they were a bit cheeky and shone their torch into the back of the car but other than that cant fault the guys, they were dead pleasent, apparently theyve had complaints of people racing around the estate so are doing random stops (in other words stopping young drivers in small cars) lol

First time ive been pulled in 2 years of driving, luckily i wasnt breaking any laws for once so it wasnt as bad as i thought it would be.

The end.

Have to agree people always seem to be slatting the police but in my (albeit limited) experience they have been really friendly, helpful and professional. Glad it all went ok for you!

mm mixed bag being stopped for me. Was once pulled at excessive speed in one of my DERVS and they were sound, told me off, sent me on my way. RESULT. However, several years before that I took my parents to an Xmas party at some farm and on the way home from delivering them I was stopped by a gang of them doing vehicle checks. They were most unfriendly and checked asolutely everything, determind to pin something on me and ignoring the fact that I and my family were acting appropriately by me taking them and picking them up from this party so they could get ******. As always with plod, mixed bag!

Still swearing is that one dude

I've a mixed bag of experience. Some are nice fellas, some are ****s. As with anything really.

exactly, given time, you will (i have no doubt) come across the less than genial bobby.

the one that still iritates me was the 5 foot nothing woman traffic plod who's first words to me upon pulling me over for a tail light out were, "now then son, is this your motor?".

i was by the look of her, probably ten years her senior at the time.

still, they're not all bad.

Agreed. Most beat cops I've met have been alright, unfortunately the vast majority of Traffic I've come into contact with have been poor representatives of the law enforcement squad.

only ever been pulled over once. Was following a friend down some open country roads at 4am doing way in excess of the speed limits, and we were pulled by 4 volvo T5 traffic cars with 2 traffic officers in each....they even boxed us in! One in front, one to the side and two behind.

Turns out they were looking for two stolen cars, and after having a quick word about the speed (they had definitely clocked us they even told us the speed we were going) they let us on our way and basically said "take it easy and stop drawing attention to yourself, i cant be arsed having to pull you for no reason when we've got better things to do with our time" (paraphrase)

Nice fellas, seriously scared at the time though.

Tom.

Every time I get pulled it's in the middle of the night.

First time they hid around a corner while I got into my car. Then pulled me for speeding (don't think I was).

Second time I got to sit in the back of the T5 whilst being interrogated :D then told off for accelerating too quickly from a junction...

Third time was last week. I was dropping some people back from work and they were right up my arse for ages. Waited for me to drop one friend off then followed me again. Then pulled me and told us both to get out, asked me loads of questions and said "ok that's fine". Then walked off. No reason for that one.

No real bad experiences thankfully. Still annoying though - I wish they'd just pull you over straight away rather than follow for ages. Especially when you know it's coming. :p

Thought about changing your car/how you drive!?

Ive done 2k a month since i got my car, drive like a bit of a knob sometimes and ive had one very short conversation with a policeman on a motorcycle and thats it.

I had a strange experience the other day... a panda car pulled out in front of me at a crossroads, then proceeded to drive at about 15mph in front of me all the way down a pretty long road  Not sure what that was all about, I wasn't do anything remotely wrong and they just drove off after that :/ Strange.

i havnt seen a police officer for about 2 months now....... well except for going up and down the A12 and A127 looking for speeders that is.

gone are the times when romford had police patroling the streets where the bars/clubs are...... since fights, and muggins are not real crimes anymore.

Coppers on the beat are generally ok, it's the CID that are a bunch of absolute ****** mother ******* ********* to ever roam the earth......

seems a lot of people have had mixed experiance with the police, maybe i got lucky that they were nice guys...although i think your attitude goes along way to how they treat you.

Had a traffic car follow me home from work the other week for no apparent reason. Followed me all the way to the door before turning around (we live in a cul-de-sac) and disappearing without saying a word.

Very odd.

on saturday i was visiting northampton before the TRAX event, me and R220 were driving around seeing if any other cars were in northampton prior to the show so we could take a gander at them, we saw a car doing a hand brake turn in a car park so we went in to see what they where up to and laugh at the patheticness, r220 pulled up and asked him somthing then he left so we followed him out, little did we know he had gone down a no entry road with us in tow, as soon as i realised it was one way (about 10metres behinde the sign, i stopped and started to turn around) in which point a undercover police car (which was tailgating r220) sped infront and flashed his lights on.

the police man instantly began shouting at me and calling me names, i tried to explain what had happens but he wasnt pausing for breath allowing me to speak, he was an absolute nob.

he accused me of hand braking around the car park with my 'freind' and wasnt interested in the actual fact i wasnt from the area etc.

then another policeman got out and took over as he was clearly out of order, this guy was calm, took my details etc ...

in the end r220 got a producer and i got a section 59, i gues as they couldnt give me a producer as they didnt know what police station was local to me, they gave it to me on the ground of 'scaring pedestrians with loud exhaust' lol what a farce, it was gone 11pm and there was 1 drunkard walking by and i was changing gear at 3krpm to keep the noise down.

the amusing thing is that it states that the officer has to be uniformed to hand out a section 59, these were undercover and therefore it doesn't even stand.

Having been thro my boy racer, sitting on car parks, going on cruises phase. My friends and I have been stopped quite a lot, as you can imagine, and i have always found they will match your attitude. If your ok with them they will be ok and if you star be a bit of tit they will respond the same

Shining their torch into the back of the car?? Cheeky scumbags. I don't know if I could have controlled myself in such a situation!:mad::mad:
