Hi all,

I bought a watercooling kit XSPC RayStorm 750 AX240 WaterCooling Kit.

The pump has stopped working, so I am getting a replacement.

Was just wondering whether it is worth buying a different pump altogether?

For example the XSPC Twin D5 Dual Bay Reservoir/Pump Combo.

And on this subject, the 2 pumps, are they there just to pump faster, or is each used to create a different loop?

Thank you very much in advance!

Kind Regards,

Kirill

Yeah, you're far from the first to have reliability issues with the 750 unfortunately.

That dual pump/res is for a single loop and offers a bit more head pressure and redundancy if one fails, but it's not really necessary.
Although I'm not sure on what your loop comprises of, you'll almost certainly be fine with a single D5 pump. They're usually very reliable.

Get a SINGLE Swiftech MCP35x, the top is amazing, small pump with PWM that you can controll from the bios. Its just as quiet and can run larger loops than D5s.

i did think thay was the same pump? just under a different brand.
And Swiftech throw in a good top?

PWM and a better top? is it not the same unit different box?

I don't get your attitude. This is a forum for helping other members. Not making sarcastic comments about other people's suggestions. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. No need to be rude. You're arrogance is offensive. If you can't be polite then I don't think you should post. Keep it to yourself. Not everyone has the same literacy skills mate. Think before you type.

Back on topic - I have a D5 and it's been rock solid and I'd recommend it to anyone. I can't speak of the MCP35x as I've never owned one.

I can on the other hand, the mcp35x is a lot stronger, will push air out of the loop without having to cycle and tip your rad and case just to get the bubbles out. Unless ofcourse your loop is massive.

The top it comes with is IDEAL for almost all situations, cant say the same about the D5 i bought. Id have to get a seperate top for that, or i could buy a d5 with the top installed. Either way it would be more expensive and weaker.

"You are arrogance" Heh, love it.

Most people do use a D5 with a top, though not if they're built into a bay res as the OP appears to want/require.
Sure, the mcp35x as with any 18w DDC does have higher head pressure and is a very good pump.
It absolutely necessary here and has it been established that his loop requires it over a D5?

Also, it's not really much/any cheaper and not that easy to get hold of here. Certainly not compared to grabbing a D5/bay res combo which is probably all the OP requires..

He would probably be saving money and have a better pump in the end, how is that not a good recommendation?

@ Alz D CPU and 2 GTX780 Ti

Everything seemed fine as it was temperature wise. SO really after a pump that won't break. The system has only been running 3 month (granted I do not turn it off)...

P.S. I don't mean never break, but at least last a few years.

And what about radiators? All I can go off is my own experience and my D5 has been fine on my set up. I'm sure a D5 would be great for you. Make sure you mount the bay res securely - rubber between the case and the screw mounts will reduce vibration if you go for it.
