So, I finally did it. Got my system up and running.
5900x, in a rack.
Alpha cool 1080 rad with 9 fans (,currently fully passive though).

Raijintek d5 pump res
Alpha computer cryos next nickel block.

The fan is super loud though and theres this constant vortex. How do I fix this.?

I wonder if it's because there's a million bubbles in it but it is obnoxiously loud and I wasn't expecting this

Any help would be appreciated.

Inherent with all watercooling loops when you first fill them up. Micro bubbles and air trapped in the radiator, blocks etc will take some time to get out. Rocking the case and radiator will help move the bubbles out and also adjusting the speed up and down will help too.

sounds like you’ve got the pump at 100% if there is a vortex in the reservoir. Try turning it down.

Thanks for the advice..it's been on all night..let's see if its better...

You could leave it on all night but if you don't shake the radiator and case about abit, that trapped air isn't gonna move or its gonna take longer. Giving it a quick shake usually helps it along in my experience.

A d5 even at 100%
Shouldn't be obnoxiously loud
Unless your impeller
Is unbalanced
Or its resonating/vibrating
Perhaps a video including the sound
Would be useful
As to the vortex what rpm is the pump at?
And wasn't an anti vortex insert included?

If you've got a vortex sometimes res' can come with plates to mitigaste that kind of thing, did you take anything out of the res perchance? If not, then you can always bodge something in there. It's kind of hard to tell from the glamour shots on the manufacturer's website.

Or turn your pump speed down ;).

its certainly quietend itself down a bit now.

the tubing i have is quite thin-walled and kinking, and my runs need re-doing.
as the pc is in a rack i wanted to be able to pull the pc out to work on it so theres a lot of slack thats just kinking things so im going to maybe remove that and get some thicker tubing.

so far ive had no leaks - the last pc i watercooled was in the early 2000s - the intel core2quads.

Had this when I had an air pocket trapped in my D5

I loosened the outlet until water came out (presumably air did too) then it ran fine
