Pump won’t spin

Hi all.

I am trying to bleed my loop for the first time and the pump won’t spin on my EKWB Distro Block.

I have a jumper plug on the 24 pin of the psu and I have tried putting the pump on every pwm I can see (it started on the pump header first) but the pump will not spin.

Also connected is the 8 pin EATX12v at the top of the board, but nothing else.

The psu fan spins up, so I’m guessing the psu and jumper are ok.

I have an Asus Formula mb and an evga psu.

Sorry for the noob question but have I missed something or is the pump U/S?

Right I’m being a doughnut.

I need an adapter cable to run the pump the way I was trying.

So I have tried plugging the pump into the pump header and a fan on the cpu fan header.

24 pin back in the MB.

Powered up for a second and off again as the cpu has no coolant.

Still no pump and the fan doesn’t spin either.

What the chuff am I missing???
 
Spoken to support they are going to test the pump and I’m getting an adapter cable so the MB doesn’t need to be powered.

Very honest of you not to just delete your first post ;)

Always have a Molex to PWM fan connector. You never know when this may be necessary. Also, having a cheap PSU around just so you can connect your pump to an external PSU and have everything cabled up and connected but with your "real" PSU off can make your life easier.
 
Yes I know that now, getting one tomorrow.
Watched all the videos and have been researching the forums but am still a complete noob when it comes to water cooling, completely missed Jay and others plugging the pump in separately.

I'm not deleting the post as it may help someone else even if it does prove I'm a muppet.

I'm sure as this build goes along I'll have more daft questions.

i've got a really old 150W psu I use to test my loop with out of a scrap computer. If you get a piece of wire or a paperclip and connect the green wire to the black one next to it you can run the psu without it connected to the motherboard. You can then us a sata or molex connection on the psu to run your pump.

Just done the very same thing.
Grabbed an old psu out of an old pc and will have another go in a bit.
