Hi, i was just wondering if anyone knew of anywhere i could buy a decent punch bag + Speed ball and stand for a decent price?

Thanks, Cas.

Depends how much you'd use it, Golds Gym make good bags/stands.

Possibly get the bag from Golds Gym and get the bag from somewhere that has the speedball on offer, i know places like argos/jjb direct etc did.

I'm sure it would be. If you have any weight plates, put them on it too, or bolt it down. A teathered bag would be my suggestion, otherwise it'll swing like a mo fo.

Excuse my ignorance (and probably my stupidity) but what is a teathered bag?

And also, i dont think i have any weights - Only my little brothers, and they are only light. So i need to order a set of cheap weights to keep it steady while im at it?

Thanks for the help btw

EDIT: Many typo's

That bag in the link, I really wouldn't get it. If you can get a freestanding one, so you can practice moving a round the bag. The one that you have highlighted with the bar running down the back will make any sort of training other than punching straight forward very difficuilt.

Teathered bag:

It will stop it swinging about when you hit it from different angles. Also means you dont have to keep stopping to steady it, or wait for it to finishing swinging about.

I wouldn't worry about ordering weights for it straight away. See how it is without them, if its wobbling or lifting up etc then get some cheap plates for it. To be honnest you could just get some bricks or paving slabs and put those on it. Probaly cheaper and heavier!

Thanks for the help.

Also, what are the floor standing bags like? Because if they are worthwhile, i would get one of those and a speedball on the wall.

And, what is that phd-boxing place like? Never used them.

I've not used them, was just through a google image search for teathered punch bags!

I've only used wall hanging bags at my gym unfortunatley so can't offer any comments!

There are quite a few boxing forums you might be better asking on. For some reason the SA here seems to be a bit dead on the boxing scene! Not many OCUK'ers are fighters it would seem!
