I have a US MacBook.

The only difference is that when I want a "£" I hit the "#" key.

Thread hijack apologies and all, but can someone recommend somewhere that offers replacement (non-mac) batteries that won't set it on fire when on charge
(if possible)

Hah... sure, we all would.

Get rid of the box and take it through as if it had been with you on the whole trip. That's what i had to do anyway.

As for the keyboard, the enter key is horizontal where as it's vertical on a UK keyboard.

Bottom is US, top is the same as a UK layout.

Is there a tax relief scheme for visitors operating in the US? When I came back from Australia with a couple of iPad Mini's I got the GST refunded at the airport on departure. Just had to show receipt and items.

Just pointing out the obvious - these things always look like a good deal because of the tax avoidance. Once you add the local sales tax and import tax, it's probably better to just get a UK one with a proper warranty, keyboard, and accessories. Depends on your moral character really.

Actually it's tax evasion... Tax avoidance is legal...

OP, best bet is to send the packaging to yourself by post. It'll probably cost you about $10 to do and about $2 for brown paper and tape!

Petty point of note - this is tax evasion, not avoidance. It's illegal - avoidance isn't.
