Purchasing a prebuilt computer

Hi, ok thanks so it's worth purchasing that PSU for £59? I assumed mine was good, since I was bloody charged around £150 for it a year and a half ago, I guess I was just blindly conned by the dealership though. I'll add that to my list, and will make my purchases within the next 24 hours :)

Edit: Is that motherboard definitely a wise choice? Seems to have mixed reviews in the responses, which makes me a little hesitant since it's my first build.

Go with what Ace Modder suggested particularly about the psu. You just never know, a bad one can take out your system if it goes! £150?? Ouch.

If your not sure about motherboard then keep looking but Ace Modder won't see you wrong. Hope you enjoy working on your computer, I feel that I have learnt a hell of a lot more after building my first one. More than I could any other way.
Good luck with it. Give us a shout if you need any help.

you could get a bad one with any brand :)

but i guess less chance with certain brands over others.

Hi,

I don't suppose one of you experts could help me through PM or a messenging service quickly while I purchase all my things? Just want to make sure I don't order something wrong, getting it all within the hour.

Thanks a ton,

James.

Here's what I've come with:

Was just wondering if anyone had any ideas for last minute adjustments, decided to go all out and buy it all so I sure hope I'm capable of doing it ;)

I do have a question, is it worth purchasing a sound card also? Or will my current one be fine? If so, does anyone have any suggestions?

Also one more thing, my current graphics card is a HD Radeon 4870, it has popped out so I've got to fix it or it crashes my computer often, would it be worth purchasing a newer card, if so what would the graphical differences be like? For someone who watches movies in 1080p/plays MMORPG's at top graphics, would it really differ?

Thanks, hopefully anyone can help me finish up. I appreciate everything done so far. Also is it worth spending an extra £20 or so for a better power supply? Or is that one good enough.

Thanks anyone who can help,

James.

Edit 2: One more thing, do I need cables or anything also?

cables come with motherboard.

onboard sound is good these days.

The psu is a good one. I can't really comment as to performance of the 4870 compared to newer cards. i love my gtx 460 but whether it is worth you changing now is not something i could comment on really.
