I'm probably going to get a 360 and would like the HDMI output.

I thought all the new 360's would have HDMI but I can only find the Elite with it at £300 thats pretty expensive as I wouldnt expect to be downloading films etc so wouldnt need the hard drive.

So are they going to fit the standard xboxs with HDMI and didn't they mention changing to 45nm processors some time back?

Thanks!

Hi there, the new 360 Pro (previously premium) will have the HDMI slot. Some of the late premiums also had HDMI, but you will need to buy the cable seperatly in all cases other than the elite. If on the box it says 175w this means it also has the new Falcon 65nm chipset

Yep, that's correct. You can tell just by looking at the box if you want to double check. It has the HDMI logo on it.

Thanks guys ... been looking at the different versions around.

I'd just use the system for playing games, maybe a bit of Xbox live games but not to download music, films or photos to..

Would the Arcade version be sufficient for my needs? does it have enough space to fit the saved games of around 10 seperate games?

The Arcade would probably be fine to be honest, I'd recommend getting the Premium with the HDD though as you won't have to worry about space at all.

For instance my Bioshock saves totalled over 300mb alone.

The Arcade system comes with HDMI but you have to buy the cable. It also comes with a 256 mem card which has covered me well with my 5 games & saves.

Boring fact of the day: That model has never been called the Premium - that suffix was made up by the internet

it's supposed to be better than component. I'd like to see the two side by side though to see if it's visable to the naked eye.

HDMI looks miles better IME. Also DVDs looked much sharper over HDMI then component (obviously no upscaling with component) on my brothers samsung LE40M87.

VGA can look washed out on some tvs, but i think the Xbox patch is coming out to fix that.

Personally I like how simple HMDI is, only one connection to make.
