Hello,

I am thinking of buying another 120mm fan and go for a push and pull cooling acting on my i7 cpu but from reading around the web there is a mixed responce to whether it really helps in cooling. Some say it has made their temps higher than before. Has anyone done this and what results have they got.

oops this will be used on a TRUE and the fan I am thinking of getting is another s-flex 1600

thanks in advance

You won't see much difference. I've got a Noctua u12 with 2 fans in push and pull. Overall I did see 1 degree drop in two cores on idle. But, now I've added another fan just behind one of the front ones in my antec 1200 to create a windtunnel. Temps have dropped 2 degrees on all cores now. I can't say if the pull fan on the cpu heatsink helps or not. I barely saw a diff to be honest.

So, in summary the biggest change in temp I saw, was from providing a better air supply TO the cpu, and not taking hot air away from it.

Why not just test it you can get a cheap 120mm fan for about £4 (not from OCUK though but we won't go there!!) and if it works you could get a better quality one.
