Put in a formal complaint....

Depends if he is a salary partner or an equity partner. If he is a salary partner then you can always go above him and ask the Equity Partner what steps will be taken.

He's top of the food chain.

I've never encountered this problem at work before so obviously as it's happened, it shocked me. Hence me wandering off with my tail between my legs.

Be careful what you say though mate. The worst thing I have ever said to any of the partners when they decided to have a go at me is -

"Forget it. I'm not having any of it".

Never had a problem since and most of the lawyers here know what our manager is like as well.
