Sign up for a google account, go into the "Webmaster's" tools and create a site map, drop the code into your home page and trigger google to cache it.

Found it more effective than just adding your URL to there database.

Also try and get some of your mates to write about it on their blogs with links... add it to some social bookmarking sites too for potentially faster indexing
