Hello,

I am planning to make a new computer and I am going to try and put my existing hard drive with windows 7 on it into this build. I've been told I may encounter some problems. If anyone can give some advice on methods to do this please feel free to reply. I do have a way to back up my games and software so that's sorted. Ive seen some people wiping the hard drives and re-installing the operating system back on so the motherboard recognizes it....but im not so sure on how to do that. Help please!

Thanks :-)

you're going to want to do a new install of windows otherwise you'll face issues, when you run the windows install you get the option to format the hard disk tho its only a quick format.

if you have another pc or friend/family who's pc you can use, connect your hard disk into their pc and format(make sure you format yours not their's or they'll not be too happy ;) ).

btw whats the spec of the pc you're thinking about and is the hard disk you have sata?

I am thinking on building a new AMD Quad core, with a nvidia gtx 460. And at the moment I am using a Samsung 1TB hard drive 7200rpm SATA.
