When ordering something online, that will ONLY delivery to the cardholders address, if i put my 'cardholders address' to the address i want the item sent to, and NOT the address that my card is registered to and all bills and statements go etc, will it work? or do they somehow know and refuse to send?

really need to buy something but goin back to uni this weekend and im sure it wont be delivered to my house by the end of the week

Nearly all credit card payments check with the bank details on the card, thus it will be your cardholders address.

In my old shop we used to have to enter the postcode and address numbers in to our card machine and if they weren't right it'd kill us with fire.

I tried this the other day and it got rejected, so now I have to make a pointless trip home to collect a package that I should be able to get delivered here :(

Rang up customer service and they said there was no way round it. Ugh.

Just change your credit card address to someone you know is normally in (Nan, Mum, Elderly neighbour) then no more waiting in :)

I think you can add a second address to your debit/credit card for stuff like this. Try ringing up your bank and asking.

Most sites I have used have the facility to deliver to a different address to that of the cardholders.

The site I was using—I can't speak for the OP—only allows you to deliver to the cardholder's address for the first order for security reasons.

I usually find that your first order generally has to go with the cardholder statement address, and subsequent ones can go anywhere. (I order a lot to work)

My work address is registered with my bank and the company who supply my credit card.
So although I still have to put my proper address down for billing, I can specify my work address as a delivery address and my bank/credit card company are happy to authorise a delivery to said address.

However...just because my bank/credit card company are happy for my work address to be used that doesn't neccessarily mean an e-tailer is happy to deliver to any other address than the billing one.
It is their choice at the end of the day and although they may lose the odd customer they can also be safe in the knowledge that when they send a package out it is being sent to the address registered to that person - it cuts down on fraud etc.

It is frustrating, however usually once you've done that very first order to your billing address most e-tailers then allow a delivery address and then you're laughing.
