Putting money to work

Ok, i'll try again - the site was in the referral link address. Wasn't trying to hide anything.

If any of you do go down the p2p route then make sure you use SOMEONE's, not necessarily mine, but SOMEONE's as you WILL get a £50 referral bonus.

I use the bonus and factor it into my overall lending and find that i am doing better than banks rates and it is safer than gambling (i'm not open to too much risk!)

Is this OK mods?

that's good if you intend to invest longer, but with someones referral you only need to invest for 30 days, not 12 months as per new customer offer.

That's not how the T&Cs read? - "Your friend can request to withdraw their money at any time, but must keep a minimum of £1,000 invested for 1 year to qualify for their £100 bonus."

Anyone would think you were only interested in the £50 you stood to gain.

I'm talking about the £50, that is payable after 30 days of investing.

All i am trying to do is show an alternative to banks, gambling etc to maximize returns, not make any gains - i said use my link (removed) or set up your own peer group to take advantage.

I don't know why i bothered as people are very quick to criticize.

So, the £50 that you, the referrer would get?

The person being referred needs to keep £1k on the market for a year to get £100 (as pasted from the T&Cs) which is the same as if done without your link.

My link isn't there!! Why do you keep referring i am out to scam people and make a gajillion dollars out everyone?! This is getting silly, i am talking about the £50 - refer within your own circle and claim the £50. The £100 is over a year, the £50 is over 30 days. Yes, the referrer gets the £50, but if you do it between friends, you all get to refer each other!! I've done this with a group of 10, it works, it isn't difficult to follow.

But you must invest £1000 over 30 days to get the £50.

A £100 is better, but it is over 12 months.

What is it?

It's a White Hole.

Refer a friend terms and conditions

To be eligible for this offer you must use the link provided to refer a friend to RateSetter. Your friend cannot be an existing RateSetter customer and you cannot refer yourself (for example, by using another e-mail address or false details).
Your friend must have a minimum of £1,000 matched within 30 days of opening an account for the referral to be valid. Confirmation of a valid referral will be emailed to you once your friend’s money has been matched.
For each valid referral you make, you will, within 30 working days, receive £50 which will automatically be invested in the rolling market at the Market Rate. The £50 is not transferable and no alternatives will be offered.
Your friend can request to withdraw their money at any time, but must keep a minimum of £1,000 invested for 1 year to qualify for their £100 bonus. This will be deposited into the Rolling Market at the Market Rate within 2 weeks of qualifying.
The Rolling Market will reinvest the bonus each month automatically. You can change investment settings and request to withdraw your money at any time.
This offer is for your personal use only, referrals cannot be made through a third party or by using any type of automated script or device. You must not send a referral to anyone you don’t know or who you think wouldn’t want to receive this type of offer.

My link was removed, i am trying to offer an alternative if you decide to keep it within friends you can add £50 to your overall yearly interest calculated.

ETA: Apologies to the OP for thread spoiling and turning this into a thread about ratesetter! I'll bow out now.

It's quite simple really. Stop banging on about your bloody referral and let people work it all out for themselves. This latest trend over the last few days of people offering help in the hope that others will use their referral is ridiculous. Offer help or don't. This isn't MSE.

Here's a great way to make some money easy, hear me out, if everyone sends me £10, then what happens is you refer your friends, and get each of them to give you £10, but I get £2 of that too. But here's the great part, when they refer their friends you'll get £1 for each, and I get £1 more. So on total you've only spend £10 but you can potentially make thousands. Who's in?

I'm completely confused so it must make sense, I'm in!

I guess I should've been more detailed.

I want something to invest my monies in. A few people at work have mentioned day trading. Something I know nothing about.

Just after some thoughts.

Gambling. A mate won £200 on a B3A machine after feeding in a tenner at a working mens club the other week then put it the horses and won £2K. Easy. :o

Precious metals are typically a low return, unless you get something like a stock market crash which jacks the value up practically overnight. Helium is a finite resource which will gradually get more valuable over time, I'd put long term money on that. Unless they invent another way to cool MRI machines/ fill balloons.

Love your new sig. OP =)
