Someone please slap me, But I won't to make sure my new watercooling set-up is working fine by testing the temps under load. I don't want to play a game or something incase it overheats and kills my chip. So is there any software that will put my cpu at full load with a fail safe device incase it gets too hot?

Thanks
Ben

run a few instances of Toast or /Orthos/Folding at Home.

The fail safe device is you watching the temps in software.

However, if you have installed a new watercooling loop, you should test the loop on it's own first for at least 24 hours. That way, any leakages won't cause (or shouldn't cause ) any damage.

DO NOT POWER ON THE SYSTEM IF YOU HAVEN'T TESTED THE LOOP IN ISOLATION!!!

Basically, disconnect everything from your PSU, except the pump and fans.

Then you need to bypass the ATX setting on yor PSU so it comes on straight away. Switchy off PSU, grab an old power cable and strip the ends ooff. Place one end in to the green 20/24 pin connector and the other end into any black connector.. as shown below:

When you are ready, switch the PSU on and the pump and fans will start to work.

Place a white towel under the loop, and leave for at least 24 hours.. When you return, the towel should be dry and clean..

You can then start connecting everything back to the PSU. then run a stress test as above link.
