Am I right in thinking that if I get a PWM fan and use a 4 pin fan header to molex converter cable to plug it directly into the PSU that it will not run constantly at full speed?

Why would you need to use a pwm to molex if you have a spare fan header ?

If you don't have a spare fan header then you can buy a splitter cable.

I have 1 spare fan header but want to plug in at least 2 additional fans.

I was thinking about when I've used all the fan headers with splitter cables.

I only want 2 fans per header max just incase they burn the header out.

I doubt you will have any issues using standard case fans. I think most fan headers are rated around 1A. A standard case fan will be well below that figure (Maybe around 0.18A or less).

This cable can do 3 PWM fans off a single header.

I'm looking at 120-140mm led fans so they could take .30A or .40A depending on the individual fan itself I didn't want to get too close to reaching 1A
