Help....

Just swapped motherboards for a different model (same chipset) and i'm getting an error thats preventing Windows to boot.

PXE-E01: PCI vendor and device ID's do not match!

Anyone seen this before? Is it to do with a RAID setup I had on the old motherboard and the RAID info isn't the same on the new motherboard?

help :(

Don't know that error, but the general consensus is that when changing motherboards its advisable to do a re-install of windows. This may be what's required in your situation. Sorry I couldn't be more help, hopefully some1 with a bit more know-how will reply.

I believe that mictosoft thinks the mobo is the part that is least likely to be replaced so "ties" the software to the mobo. AFAIK you need to do a reinstall to fix it. This isnt an OEM veesion of windows is it?

For anyone else with this problem:

The fix was to enable the onboard LAN, botted into windows and automatically reinstalled all my drivers.

Apparently this issue was fixed on later BIOS for the MSI P67-65.

All sorted now! :D

ahhh good to know, glad you got sorted.

just be aware that you may run into other problems down the line if you don't do a fresh OS install after changing out the motherboard

Yeh, I wasn't sure if it was going to boot into windows after the new motherboard.

I made sure I uninstalled the chipset drivers, USB3.0 drivers and RAID drivers before swapping motherboards.

Everything seems to be fine though, it took a while to install all the drivers when I booted into windows after the swap.......it did about 20 drivers. lol
