iv just fitted a shiny new 5870 into my father in laws dell xps system, seems to run nicely but since dell stupidly lock in the bios the cpu at stock speeds would the 5870 be bottlenecked???

cheers guys

I would imagine it would bottleneck it.
Think I might have gone for a 5850 and spent the extra £'s on a half decent clocking MB instead. I may be wrong, but I imagine that would have given better all round performance.

+1 You could get a 5850 and a new motherboard and a decent CPU cooler for the same amount. If your Q6600 is a G0 stepping then you could OC it to 3.2-3.4Ghz quite easily.
