Hi all,

Computer keeps crashing and getting hot.
Iv had a good clean out as I have done over the past few years to keep my computer working smoothly but today it keeps crashing and getting hot. I have checked all fans and cooler is seated replaced thermal paste etc and checked all fans even clean install of everything.
I can't even play videos on YouTube with out it crashing.

All seems to be fine physically and software side of things. But I'm starting to think is this sign of the good old 8 year old machine need to retire?
It's been running at 3.1ghz since day one and its done it flawlessly until now.

Anybody have any other suggestions?

I'm not sure about either to be honest so trying to test and checked everything I can. Gpu isn't very old had the get a replacement beginning of the year.

Maybe try a clean install of Windows? That's always good fun and can often solve mysteries...

Already done clean install of everything. Iv put the cpu back to stock settings now, all seems to be ok so far seems to run better at lower speed.

cpu running at 30c gpu at 42 idle

Replace thermal paste and remount the coole . It shouldn't run any hotter unless you give it more voltage.

Already done and it helped.

It is old now been running for 8 years with only couple issues. It's been a great workhorse and gaming machine.
It's going to have a to hang on longer hopefully a little longer until the funds are saved for another. Just paid for my HGV training so hopefully not long until I can build another.

I would be looking to spend around £2000

been away from the computer for just over an hour and come back to use it and its reset. sitting on the award bios screen says to press f1 to continue. any ideas??
