Hi ive brought a q6600 off of bay and have had problems with the pc rebooting, and stuttering in bc2 and mw2

i removed my killer pro and all seemed ok so ive put it back in and managed 3 rounds of bc2 last night without a problem, so i thought everything was okay again.

This morning i ran a 3d mark vantage test and the pc froze?

the cpu is at stock, do you think i should ask for a refund as it seems to be unstable.

the cpu was sold as semi-new but it is dated 07 on ihs.

You need to be certain the CPU is faulty, which is very unlikely tbh.

What Bios revision are you on? Are there any updates specifically aimed at Quads?

Did you do a proper CMOS reset after installing the new CPU?

Did you adjust voltages etc in the BIOS, or are they at auto?

how are your CPU temps, maybe it's overheating. Many q6600's have an uneven ihs which leads to poor contact with the CPU heatsnk and therefore run crazily hot.

bios is latest temps are 35c, i have water cooling, everything in the bios is default, there is no 8 pin on this board, only a 24 pin and 4 pin.
i moved jumper to reset cmos.

when i brought it,i tried it at stock on a few games then tried to overclock it but couldnt get it stable, games started jerking so i went back to defaults in the bios, but i only went up to 1.46 v core
