Q6600 Quad core wont boot when cold !

Hi

I have a problem with my intel q6600 quad core cpu, Ive had it 2 mths and have experienced problems booting my system from cold, Its taken this long to identify the fault

The cpu seems to be susceptible to cold, its wont boot in the morning, yet blow a little hot air its way and it starts no problem

Is this a faulty processor or have others suffered from this

Any help?

What motherboard are you using? I had the same problem on my Gigabyte board, sorted it by uping the FSB and MCH voltages by a notch

Weird, I also get this sometimes, q6600, Gigabyte p35 DS4.... Try bumping up your volts a little...

I had a similar problem with my rig. Sorted it by upping the northbridge voltage.

I'll try this with my gigabyte board - I'm already running +0.1v on the NB right now.

I think it's more likely to be a poor solder joint on the motherboard.
