Sorry if this has been asked before but i am new to this forum.

I have a Q9300 fitted to a Gigabyte GA-X48T-DQ6 mobo with the stock cooler and fan and i realise that i will have to upgrade the cooler too.

What i want to know is if i OC the Q9300 to say 3.0ghz what will i need to adjust the voltage to so it will work well.

I am a little dumb when it comes to this as i ahve had no experience of OC but built this PC to which it is fitted.

Thanks.

I think you can get it to 3.0Ghz on less than stock voltage. If its not stable increase it just a little.I had a Q8200 and it was at 3.0Ghz with less than stock voltage on a GigaByte GA-X48-DS5 so the boards are almost identical. You should set the voltage to about 1.18v and if its not stable try 1.19 or 1.20.
