Hey guys, I was just wondering if any of you like me were waiting on these two items? The wait is killing me but supposadly the Q9450's are going on sale 18th and some Rampage boards are hitting some sites 23rd March, thought Id create a topic for both of these and the current progress.

Let's not discuss about cheaper places, just the general topic of these two :). I was going to get an Asus maximus extreme, then I realised how pointless DDR3 is currently, then I looked at the Asus Maximus Formula NON SE, which I was all set for but now I want this new rampage, but depending on how long it takes to come out I might go for the Maximus formula instead but will defo wait on the CPU which I want to OC to 3.6ghz.

I've got my entire new build waiting, including Maximus Formula, to plop the Q9450 in to. Let's hope the stock flows thick and fast :)

So you've poo poo'd DDR3 and yet your buying some outrageously expensive X48 mobo that has nothing similar specs on a decent X38?... lol right...;) Hehe, but anyway the new Quads should be nice to see.

Snap.

I'm waiting for both these two, hope the Q9450 is in today.

Rampage Formula should be 2 weeks, max.

Hopeing for a GX2 if Visa will let me :p

Lets hope the Q9450 and Rampage Formula is a marriage made in heaven.

A lot of places are getting Q9450 tomorrow, some are getting them the week after. I know Asus have shipped out some X48 motherboards but I don't know when we'll get them which is really frustrating.

Well I have just finished ordering everything else :), woah I cant wait for tommorow, going to be like christmas morning when i was a kid :P.

I must hold off for Q9450 and Asus Rampage x48, but its hard when I could just get a Q6600 and Asus Maximus Formula x38 right now and be able to build it all tommorow.. ahhh

I know how you feel, I've got an empty tower sitting next to me. Hopefully I should be getting all my stuff this week or early next if what I've heard is true :)

For those of you wanting to clock the Q9000 series quads here's a heads up. Over at XS these have been maxxing out with a fsb of only 435-437mhz. That's on X38 boards and you really need to increase the board voltage just to reach that. That really does'nt look good with the low multipliers on these cpu's.

I am holding off judgement till I see reviews I trust, Here is some shots of my sound/monitor and getting my components yesterday :)

No graphics card no, I am keeping my Ge Force 8800 GT 512mb, not spending £200 on something I already have that will give me a few more frames, will upgrade it in 6months - year depending if its worth doing so.

I know how you feel, In my opinion ASUS is the right choice and the rampage formula x48 ddr2 for £180ish actually is great, a brilliant base for everything else another reason why I want to wait, If I have a yorkfield CPU and a good motherboard I know it will last a good long time.

Saying that, the P35 and x38 are great boards still of course

Just to get things more confusing, ive been looking at the following boards:

currenlty my fav is: MSI P7N diamond 780i
OTHERS:
Gigabyte EX38-DQ6
Asus Rampage

the reason i say MSI, is cuz the Q9450 already been tested and it works with it, supports ddr2, and 3 way sli..future proof it a little lol. and seems to be at a good price £160ish
