For those of you wanting to clock the Q9000 series quads here's a heads up. Over at XS these have been maxxing out with a fsb of only 435-437mhz. That's on X38 boards and you really need to increase the board voltage just to reach that. That really does'nt look good with the low multipliers on these cpu's.
First one is an ES. The second is on a P35. I said X38 and it seems to be the Asus boards that are affected.
So where are the thread(s) that say that then?
If its affecting Asus boards perhaps its a BIOS issue. Certainly the Maximus Formula is not marked down as supporting the Q9450 on their CPU Support list yet.
