q9450 - Shortage? Will the price stay so high?

you can get a retail q9450 shipped from the states for £180, but you would likely get hit with customs + VAT on top, but it would still work out cheaper at the moment than the oem chip that only has 1 years warranty. However in all likelihood the shortage will be resolved shortly and the price will fall. Its probably best just to wait a week or two then get it from a uk retailer once they're in stock.

The 12MB cache will make a difference to me. I may put together a purely gaming spec together later in the year, and I reckon even after the new releases it might be hard to resist an OC'd Q6600.

Especially on H20 @ 4.0GHz :eek:

That's a nice spec you have there, though once the summer really gets going don't forget to keep a couple of tea bags handy.. :D

They're also in stock and £25 less at another ordinary online retailer. You guys are pretty hot at price matching the gfx cards, but not great on high demand CPU's
 
Hi there

Were now just over £250 Inc. VAT on the OEM and still in stock.

Other good news is Retails landing in our warehouse this evening/tomorrow with enough stock to clear all backorders and plenty left over spare. :)
 
You're under £250 for the OEMs dude.


And yeah I've just seen the retails are available in the UK.

I hope you're going to be competitive. I've a refund for an OEM one I ordered from Germany coming my way today or tomorrow and it's more worth more than the retails are selling for.
