Q9550 new stepping

Any chance these will appear this week?

I need to build a new virtualisation workstation a.s.a.p for a project I will start working on very soon.

Nehalem is near, but will be expensive and most probably over 2 months delay.

From what I gather at the moment the Q9550 is THE choice for VM work?

I assume I can send it back unoppened under distance selling if is not the new stepping though?

OCuk stocks the new stepping, or are the ones on this week offer "old stock shifting"?

Seems like OCuk was intel's first choice for these, otherwise they would have offered them as a premium purchase if they got them? Same thing they did with the Q6600 back then.

This is getting silly - its been nearly 2 months now.

Its been that long I have given up on them ever arriving! Now its so close to the i7 release I may as well go for that and then atleast I will have an upgrade option even if the price difference is not really worth it.
Just the other day a competetor was willing to search through stock to find me one (did take them 2 weeks to reply to my request mind you!!) but like I said above, might as well wait the last few months and get the new socket type.
