Hey guys am new here but thought i would post for help as the forums look quite active and you guys seem to know what your on about.

Basicly i have overclocked my Q9550 from 2.86Ghz to 3.4Ghz and i am wanting to know how i can push it further but concerned wether or not i need to start altering any NB voltages?

so far i have changed the FSB settings, cpu core voltage and ram speed (to 667mhz).

The cooler i am using is an Xigmatek HDT-S1283

my idle temps are:

35, 30, 40, 40

my load temps are:

58, 51, 56, 56

So what should i start changing? what's the max temps i should limit my cpu to? and what is the max speed i could expect to see??

p.s. my ram is OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 800Mhz/PC2-6400 GOLD

Mine is running at 3.7Ghz ive left the VCore stock but had to increase the NB voltage and the FSB voltage to +0.3v for it to run stable, thats the max my mobo allows which is annoying as i cant get it stable at 3.8Ghz

You'd get away with running you RAM at a higher frequency, i had 8GB of DDR2 @ 800Mhz which was running at 900+Mhz, now running 4GB of DDR3.
Keep raising the frequency untill it fails to boot then you'll have an idea how high you can go.

Hope this helps
