Great win for Rossi despite having the slowest top speed on the straight. Just shows how his superiority in the corners.

Incredible top speed from the Hondas.

Stoner should have won, but he pushed too hard. No good being fastest if you can't stay on the bike.

Was astounded to see Stoner fall off, its like last year all over again!. Dovi's bike was a missile down the straights, and HRC must be glad he saved face for them. would have liked to of seen Spies get on the back of Lorenzo though...if he could have been dragged up to the leading bunch who knows what would have happened...that guys just gonna get faster all year.
:)

*EDIT*
Was gutted for Hayden not getting a podium finish, nice to see they've built a bike he can ride though.

Yeah, was a great race, bit of a shock to see Stoner bin it, but then he was going over half a second quicker than anyone else, no need to either really...

That Honda is amazing down the straights, but as said Rossi pulled out enough round the corners to negate the huge speed advantage (most of the time), and then at the end he just left them, perfect ride from him...

Was hoping to see Spies catch up and have a 4-way battle for 2nd/3rd, but it seemed after getting close to Lorenzo (1s exactly at one point) he then seemed to drop back again.

On that note, is there anywhere that does live timings for the motogp races?

The Moto2 and 125's were good fun as well, especially seeing 41 bikes around T1 safely, until they got to T2 that is :p

A fantastic start to the season.

I was really hoping Hayden would be up there on the podium but how fast was that Honda?
It was a shame about Stoner, but if I had a wife that looked like that i'd be getting back to the pits as fast as I could too.
Great debut for Moto 2.

Why are people surprised Stoner binned it? He has plenty of previous of binning it when Rossi is in second place.

Yet another great performance by the doctor.

Honda lane is back.

Stoner is a win it o bin kind of guy, her did smooth out his style over the last few seasons, but it does seem that his old style has com back - one race only - we'll see.

Moto2 was a good race as well.

125 - Such a shame that Bradley Smith isn't as good (yet) as he was at the end of last season, hoping he can pick things up, win the title and move up to moto2 fast.

Stoner must be kicking himself, he had this in the bag by a country mile.. still its a long championship, but throwing 25 points away can be good.

The Honda's straight line speed was amazing, i'm surprised Pedrosa dropped so far back compared to Devisioso.

Looking forward to Japan in a couple of weeks.

Did anyone actually capture the footage of stoner binning it?

Didn't seem like it - wasn't even a replay.

The BBC commentators really are crap. When Stoner goes down they're just like 'Oh. Stoner's fallen off. In other news...'

I wasn't happy with the camera work in the last corner of the MOTO 2 race either. Instead of focusing on the battle for 2nd place, they film the guy in 1st who was on his own. I know this isn't the BBCs fault but the straight is long enough to still watch 1st place cross the line.

I know there's a lot less money in Moto GP, but the amateurish camera work and commentary really showed how good F1 is in those areas.

Not watching it on Eurosport?

Best commentary out of any motorsport.

Still can't believe Stoner fell off.. easily had the measure of everyone. Also can't believe Jorge's final charge.. amazing riding.

The whole show for me lacked polish and professionalism. I enjoyed the race, but the BBC produced parts were only worthy of Men and Motors or Dave.

The funny thing is, i don't remember it being like that for the races I saw on Iplayer last year.

While i didn't find this new presenter bad at all, she does seem to lack knowledge of the sport, even Jake Humphreys learned a little about F1.

Who's doing the commentary on Eurosport these days?

Toby Moody and Julian Ryder, with Neil Spalding up there for tech support...no Randy Mamola still though...
:)
P.S. Off on a tangent, did anyone see Dakota Mamola in the 125 race at Brands in BSB?. Was going well until he binned it!!!.

It's the same ones, can't remember their names. I wish they could have gone to the BBC.

I just read in an interview that the reason Stoned fell was because he started slow because of his position, but in doing so, it caused less grip to the front tyre.

No Randy , still has to be better than the BBC, I have to watch with Portugese commentary.

Started slow because of his position  He was on pole. Stoner is just a wingeing Aussie who cracks under pressure. 2 seasons ago he binned it 3 times when in battles with Rossi.
