Qatar Moto GP

Watched it last night, still have Moto 2 and WSB to watch though, after a full weekend of riding the R1 :D

Really really impressed with the season start tbh, Spies did a great job, but the way Lorenzo et al left him, highlights that he still has a way to go before he’s at the same level, but going on his results from WSB last year and the two GPs I’ve seen him in, I’m sure it won’t be long and may even be this season!

The racing was pretty close too, whether that’s down to the new engine rules or not, but if the rest of the year carries on like that, then 2010 will be a belter!

P.S. Toby Moody and Julian Ryder get on your wick!

I think people were suprised about Stoner because he's won the 1st race of the season in Quatar for the previous 3 years and assumed it would be more of the same (though the commentators didn't seem suprised).

It was a brilliant race, great effort from the boys at Yamaha. I do wonder with the Honda being so much faster down the straight if it will be as reliable as the other manufacturers.

Hayden did very well, I think Ducati should be happy that they've got a bike that people other than Stoner can do well on now which is good.

I think Perdosa will be out soon as well, he really doesn't seem up to the same level as the other guys, he starts off well and then just goes backwards, and that seems to happen a lot.

This season should prove to be interesting, especially Moto2 which was very close racing imo.

As for Bradley it wasn't him, the bike just seems so much slower than the other guys down the straights, and at a track like Quatar he didn't stand a chance really.

Spies has started off very well, will be interesting to see where he goes through this championship.

Anyhow 2 weeks to the next round. Personally can't wait till June for Mugello....just need to find a decent spot to watch from :D

Started slow because of his position  He was on pole. Stoner is just a wingeing Aussie who cracks under pressure. 2 seasons ago he binned it 3 times when in battles with Rossi.

Sorry. Typed it on my phone and I'm still getting used to it. I meant he started to slow down because of his big lead.

I don't know what it is about Stoner. I don't think he's that bad, but my mate absolutely despises him.
He has the laguna seca race saved and watches his crash all the time. Finds it highly amusing.

Personally I'm not that keen on Stoner, he's not a particularly good sportsman and seems to always trying to find something else to blame (though admitting he was wrong in this instance is a change).

I think he's very fast, but can't handle scraps and fighting for places very well...

I don't think that was particularly amusing, though I think the pass on the corkscrew by Rossi was very brave/impressive

I'll have to agree with your mate, the laguna seca crash is great!

Stoner does have some talent though, he seems to be the only person that can push the Ducati past its limits, i'll give him that,
