Qled 49q7 or Philips 40 monitor

i have £700 to spend on a 40+ monitor or get a Samsung 49 qled q7 tv. What would you recommend.
Not interested in ultrawides. Wanting a big screen as my eyes are not that great

If you can find in stock anywhere. The 2018 replacement model is 55" & upwards!

QLED are about x2 more expensive but not x2 better image. You will struggle to get a decent 4K PC monitor with HDR & UHD for less than £1.5-2K. But can find a decent 49-55" 4K HDR UHD HDTV for well under £1K now. If anyone says they can spot the difference between QLED & non QLED on PC as well they must have xray eyes!

Hi @AWPC do you use one of the LG49’s as a monitor? Any issues?

I’m tempted by one but want to ensure text etc is fine on it. Will be wall mounting it so not fussed about the stand quality.

Yeah its my main screen from 2ft away still not big enough either ;) look in this thread I took screenshots of text from a few cms away its very sharp & that is even with Nvidia Digital Vibrance 100% & AA enabled (both blur the text slightly) https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/t...0-as-a-monitor.18756127/page-22#post-31444614
