QNAP vs Synology

QNap Turbo Station TS-209 II Gigabit Ethernet NAS Enclosure

vs

Synology Disk Station DS-207+ 2-Bay NAS Enclosure

From what I can see, the QNAP has more memory. However, I feel is only marketing? Which one is the obvious choice?

Actually, the extra ram of the TS-209 II does appear to be beneficial....and all things considered I (personally) would go for the QNAP.....

I have had the qnap 409 ( its big bro) for a few months now , love it to bits

Firmware is always being updated and upgraded with new functionality

Plus lots of people are creating new software for it ( open source)

Agree with the above, Ive got a QNAP and it works perfectly. Nice central stroage area. Serves music and video up with no speed problems.

Another vote for the QNAP. I have the TS-209, not had any problems with it for the year or so that I've had it.
