Quad bikes

and as far as confort is concered, I can do a 60 mile trip with no discomfort at the end of it.
60miles is going be nothing compared to a trip across europe...(Plus...don't the top speed & cruising speed suck big time on quads)

my friends and i were thinking about doing a trip across europe on them, cheaper thn cars cheaper fuel and more fun!

Point being buddy is that I am sure they are not going to do the trip in one go. Pick the right quite for your hight/weight etc and you should'nt have any problems at all with doing much much more. The Apache is very confortable as are most of the larger quads nowadays. Top speed of mine is 70, can be as much as 90 with the right mods, cruising speed is around 65 again higher depending on mods and engine size. It costs me £11.00 to fill my tank and I get approx. 140-160 miles riding at the above speeds on road.

thanks for all the info, what about trikes? Are they still the same? do u just have to have a full car license?

trikes are lethal mate, the USA banned them years ago when they went over from Aussyland. I would imagine they laws would be the same for trikes as they are for quads but they are not something I would really go for. Unless it has a VW engine in the rear that is :p

I have ridden a couple and tbh they scared the brown stuff outta me due to major lack of stability

Obviously not speaking from experience there buddy.

I have been using a road legal Quad for a while now and have had no problems with tipping over etc. They can be a little unstable but if riden regulally you learn to ride them better. Too many people jump on a quad, fall off then blame the quad for being unstable. Your lean to corner on a motorcycle and you also do the same on a quad. You shift weight around to keep balanced, I can corner at around 60+ on mine without fear of flipping it. Took me a short while to get used to it but its second nature now. Great fun, after all my Quad is my main means of transport and as far as confort is concered, I can do a 60 mile trip with no discomfort at the end of it.

You can ride a road legal quad on either a Full car license or full bike license. Below 21 years old you can ride nothing bigger than a 350cc, above 21 you have no cc limits.

Insurance is'nt too bad either, I pay £250.00 fully comp through QuadSure (Adrian Flux)

Me on my road legal Apache RLX320:

can only ride on a bike licence if you passed before the year 2000
you need B1 on your licence
and trikes aint leathal mate not if they are made correctly ill corner a lot faster than you will

Cyclops..

I've got a 250cc Honda ATV thats a trike...

I ride it on the fields and use it for general farm duties, it would not go faster round a corner than the 4 wheelers.

If the rear axle was wider then maybe.. but you realy have to hang off the side of it to corner fast.

But then again, you might be talking about the custom made trikes.

I rented a Spyder for a day when I was in LA. Great in a straight line, but I hated it going round ANY sort of bend or corner.

I think you can get them in the UK at ~£12,000 but a motorcycle licence is needed.
