Currently running an 8800GTX with dual DVI.

How would I add quad monitor support? Would I need a second 8800GTX?

Would a cheap PCI card do? I'm guessing I would at least need a Geforce 8 of some kind. 8500 perhaps? Its really really hard to find up to date info about this :S

Thanks.

I have a quad monitor setup and it's really not that complicated.

I have a motherboard with two PCI-E x16 slots. Each slot has a Nvidia 7600 card in it with dual DVI outputs. Then to finish the job I run Vista which has excellent multi-monitor support.

I would advise against using standard PCI slots for multi-monitor setups. You really want all screens to be powered by something that is at least relatively fast and isn't going to slow down the OS. Secondly, make sure all the graphics cards are very very similar - preferably identical. Vista is much more fussy than XP when it comes to the graphics hardware and may actually refuse to enable desktop composition/Aero if the cards aren't all using the same driver software.

Thanks for the advice.

Yeah, I'm using a nForce 680i SLI so it has the slots. I was hoping I could use a worse card for the 3rd and 4th otherwise it will involve me buying another GTX :p
