Quad sli review

Basically it says "its good, but not that good" buy a crossfire setup instead if you have money to burn :(

Nvidia are actually shipping those systems??

Half the time the performance isn't even as good as the Crossfired X1900's.

I think they should have waited a little longer to perfect the technology before releasing it. There are going to be a lot of unhappy Nvidia customers when they buy these soon...

ATI Crossfire needs more PSU power then a nvidia Quad setup
(So much for all this 900 to 1000watt PSU needed for a Quad setup that i been reading everywhere  )

Yeah.. It's a shame nvidia are doing something ATI did but this time its worse .

I heared theres a revision of quadsli soon? Smaller pcb and better performance as they realised it was omghooge and not all that great?

Still not really sure why theyre labelling the cards as 7900 gtx's, theyre running 150mhz slower so realistically theyre inbetween a 7800gtx and 7900gtx.

Nvidia themselves stated that one of the reason the cards weren't originally meant not be sold seperatley was power and case space concerns. Just seems it smore case size problems though.

So do you need a new mobo with 4xPCI-express slots  or is it two with two GPUs on each card?

You need a mobo which has 4 x PCI-E slots. Check my sig for an example mobo. You can find it in the OCUK shop.

2 Normal 7900 GTX cards in SLI beat X1900 XT Crossfile.
So 2 Normal 7900 GTX cards are faster then this too. What a waste of money!

Not entirely correct, the motherboards they are using for Quad SLI are 2 slot x16 boards, like the Asus you can buy from this very store. The 7900GX's which they use are 2 PCB's with a GPU on each which are bolted together with only *one* physical PCI-E connector.

Hmm only about 4-5 fps faster than xfire x1900's at uber high res with aa and af, not very impressive tbh. Maybe when they get the drivers working better.
