Quadcore, games and CPU usage

well after trying three games which apparently benefit from quadcore the CPU usage is rather low, crysis during the CPU benchmark was 30-40%, Supreme Commander was also 30-40%, and UT3 was 50%-55%

Is this normal?
 
Crysis barely uses dual core most the time and the benefit from Quad on UT3 is pretty low in the tests I saw and of course depends on bots and resolution used.
 
Use the supreme commander core maximizer, also keep playing till the late game, the game will consume much more cpu power later on and really benefits from a quad core.
Crysis and UT3 don't really need that much cpu power, even 2 cores is more than enough for them.

Well I ran the built in benchmark which very intensive, 40% was the highest it got.

Whats this core maximizer?

The benchy isn't that intensive at all, try a skirmish game with 7 (rushing) ai's and a 1000 unit limit, even quad core players's games will choke in the late game as the ai's & thousands of units really need much cpu power. 40% is odd as that means it doesn't even use 2 full cores, while I can easely get that in the late game with my duo. Try an actual skirmish game on a big 8 player map with 7 ai's, I'm pretty sure even your cpu will cause lag after one or 2 hours playing.

Supreme Commanders always been so debatable with Duals Vs quads, even though ive had 3 Q6600 riggs I still wonder if a 3ghz Core2duo would fair better.... my gut tells me yes I dunno why ;)

Would be awesome if someone re-ran the latest expansion FC with Core maximizer...
 
My core 2 duo can't cope with Supcom FA in the late game, when I'm in my base: 10-15 fps.
Altho this could be ''cpu bottlenecked gpu lag'' as it only happens when I'm looking @ my massive base, when I zoom out into minimap fps = 50 again.
This is the campaign tho (so with very few units, 500 unit cap per player :() I recall in the normall supcom in skirmish I had some lag in the late game with 6 players with each having about 800 units.
