Quake 4 - Why is it missing from Steam?

Why is quake 4 not in the steam quake pack, nor in the id pack or even on Steam? Was it made by another developer?

I think it's because Quake 4 was developed by Raven Software, and not Id Software. Raven Software has no affiliation with Valve or Steam at the moment, so it's not part of the packages.

You can pick it up very cheap from a few stores though if your still after a copy. I think my copy cost me a massive £3 lol. Really not a bad game either and a lot more enjoyable than doom 3 for me.

Yeah i thought it must have been something like that, you would think they would put it on steam and do a deal to add it to the quake pack, seems mental that they havent.

yeah it's really cheap if you want it elsewhere. I don't like the whole digital download thing to be honest. I like having a physical record of the games I have

I have to say that I loved the single player, it was a lot if fun!

Great game, although the weapons never quite did it for me, most of them never felt or sounded quite right. It had some classic moments though, and tons of atmosphere. Nice to be fighting with an ai squad most of the time too.
