Quake - Multiplayer

I've set up a network for quake and I want my friend to join. What do I give to him, so he can connect.

I know its probably my IP, but it doesn't seem to work.

your IP and port number should do it, although i've never played Quake - things may have been different back then.

(external) 86.148.27.xxx:27910
or
192.168.x.x:27910

if you set up a LAN it's your internal ip [192.168 etc.]
if you set up a online server it's your external ip.

If you're both on a LAN - 192.168.x.x:27910
