QuakeLive For Mac

Maybe in a few months it'll be ok on mac but right now its buggy as hell... I got in once to the training but safari crashed and now I can't get past the "Game Content Update" screen (even tho it already did that) - the spinny think just keeps spinning and the bar doesn't fill up...

Gutted I really fancied a game :(

Works fine for me, though I did once get kicked by Punkbuster for sending corrupt packets or some rubbish.

I had that happen after Safari bombed out on me. I think either restarting Safari or the Mac fixed it. But yes it does appear to be quite heavily buggy at the moment :(
 
right... finally got in to have a game, but after a minute or so, it seemed to flick a coin to dictate whether or not i was allowed to shoot... this had me either fighting or running away depending on if it was working for a while...

then it would jam me in an unstoppable forward run or side strafe, at which point i logged off...

they really do have a way to go yet, when its finished however, it will be very very awesome :D
 
Mugen, Im suprised youre having so many problems, the game itself works a treat for me (you have an iMac dont you?) however changing any settings other than keybindings crashes safari for me.

Im going to try firefox when I can be bothered.

yeah I've got an iMac, with everything updated...

tis very strange :(

Have you tried Firefox? If I remember they said that you would have to use FF to play on mac, then when it was release it said that safari was compatible, so maybe they've spent more time on the FF version, and safari is a tad behind in development.

Just a thought, and might be worth trying if you haven't already.

FF dunt work at all, says it incompatible - unless its changed since a few hours back...

I think i'll just give it a couple of weeks for them to iron this stuff out... can't just be me.

I agree it's buggy at the moment, but remember it's still even in beta for PC use, let alone Mac.

I've been anticipating this release for a long time, so a bit upset at two factors which are stopping me from playing it.

- Firstly, there seems to be a cap at 80fps - absolutely no idea why.

- Secondly, I cannot bind my right mouse button from within the game, it just does not recognise it at all.

If they can sort out these issues, I'll start to play.
 
Been waiting for this for my Macbook, hopefully it'll run OK. Been playing it on the PC and it's amazing how the game runs perfectly in a browser.
 
Not really, all it does is use Flash to front the plugin it downloads which hooks into your computer like any other game :p
 
I think it may be a sign of things to come, it certainly goes a long way to quashing piracy...

Have your tried the com_maxfps command in console?

Set to 125 if possible.

I have worked out why mine was playing up (with the gun stopping working) - it was because i have dual monitors and whenever i had turned a sufficient amount left for the mouse to be on the other screen (although it wouldn't show the cursor) the fire button would break...

gotta find a way to confine the gaming to the one screen...
